So many people need this feature to unlock the full potential of their Wikidot sites. Here's to hoping that it will be looked at sometime soon.
The private categories wish has been around for a long time, perhaps even a year or two. Currently, there is a total of $500 worth of pledges towards it being done, so hopefully that will have some influence, despite other pledges holding a much higher dollar value.
Educational sites, Business websites (just ask Ed Johnson), and fully-fledged applications like the type I want to develop but can't - because they rely on private categories or pages as a fundamental aspect - are all waiting for this.
Here's to hoping that it will be looked at sometime soon.

Exactly how? (this might be important to explain to pieter)

"Early in life I learned that I was a firestarter. When I learned that I could light fires of passion I became a pyromaniac. My greatest desire is to set the world on fire." — Shawn Hartnell
I think I've already mentioned it somewhere on the blog.
To put it simply, people need to be able to create a page in a certain category, but not be able to view it again later.
Or at the bare minimum, they can't be allowed to view pages created by other users in that category, only their own or none at all.
Moderators and Administrators, of course, can view everything.

This would also be a valid replacement for the MailForm module :) Instead of sending a PM or email to the site administrators, hidden categories could be used.
This, in my mind, is better than sending an email using the mailform module.
