Blogging tips?

I'm not very good with blogs. By now you've probably figured that out. I tend to either let them go and forget to update them.

Any tips on writing a good blog post out there? The first Google result actually says that the shorter a blog post is, the better. Well, that's reassuring. "Stay on topic" isn't mentioned, but that's probably because it's obvious! :)

I have two tips:

  1. Enable rating for the “blog” category
  2. Try to respond to the people who comment on your blog

With many blogs, the blogger generally takes the “God Approach” (a term I made up just now). The “God Approach” is when the blogger acts like God by making and creating blog posts; however the blogger, like God, doesn't talk about his creation with his audience.

The “God Approach” to blogging does not help your blog's success… blogs are more successful when you make your readers feel like you care about their contribution.

In other words, when somebody talks… you talk back! And they will love you for it.

As with writing good blog entries, I'm not an expert in that area.

I thought rating was already enabled ! Will fix that now then.

And some may argue that God does talk about his creation — we just fail to listen :)
